An accessory set for models of the A-4 Skyhawk in 1:32 scale: the dorsal avionics hump behind the cockpit and the tail section. Meant for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a light single-engine carrier-based attack aircraft, designed deliberately as a small and simple machine with a wing of triangular planform, which did not even fold, to save weight. It was precisely this undemanding nature that secured it an exceptionally long service with the navy and with other users as well. The individual versions differ from one another mainly in equipment, which kept being added in the nose and on the spine of the fuselage.
The set aims at two places on a model: at the dorsal avionics hump behind the cockpit and at the tail section. The elongated dorsal hump belongs among the conspicuous distinguishing marks of the later Skyhawks, so the set suits a modeler who wants to move a kit toward a machine equipped in this way. The range of the parts and their exact placing are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not of polystyrene, so they do not react to glue for plastic kits; use cyanoacrylate glue, and a two-component one with larger surfaces. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Because this is work on a finished fuselage, proceed dry: trace the outline on the kit first, take material away in small steps and keep trying the seating. Wash and degrease the parts before painting.
The set is for more experienced modelers who dare to cut into a fuselage and want a more faithful shape of the spine and the tail in a large scale. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
