An injection-molded plastic kit of the A-4F Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers finely engraved surfaces, well worked out landing gear bays and speed brake bays, clear cockpit parts, a photo-etched fret and metal parts for the main landing gear. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The A-4F was a later version of the light Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft. Compared with the older A-4E it was marked by additional avionics housed in the characteristic hump on the spine of the fuselage and by a more powerful engine. Small and agile, the Skyhawk served the US Navy and the Marine Corps as a carrier of bombs and rockets; in the version without the hump it was later also used by the Blue Angels display team.
Use liquid cement on the plastic joints and glue the metal landing gear parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting. An airbrush will help with the typical two-tone naval finish and with shading the panels. It pays to accentuate the cockpit and the bays with a wash. Apply the decals over a gloss surface to prevent silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
