Special Hobby A5M4 Claude Hi-Tech 1:32 is a more demanding multimedia kit of the first Japanese carrier-based monoplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Japanese Mitsubishi A5M4 carrier fighter (Allied code name Claude) in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker Special Hobby. The Hi-Tech release is multimedia: to the injection-molded plastic parts it adds resin accessories, a photo-etched sheet and further elements for a higher level of detail. It is a short-run model for more experienced modelers that rewards careful work with an above-standard result.
The Mitsubishi A5M was the first Japanese carrier-based fighter monoplane with an all-metal structure and became the predecessor of the famous A6M Zero. The A5M4 version with fixed landing gear and an open cockpit served with the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service even in the opening phase of the fighting over China and the Pacific. The aircraft stood out for its agility and its simple, reliable design.
As with short-run models, expect to clean off casting remains and to clean up the mating surfaces. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut them off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways while sanding. Join the plastic with liquid cement. The fixed landing gear and the open cockpit let the photo-etched and resin detail stand out; finish the surface with a base coat and a camouflage scheme through an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the box are not part of the delivery.
