Avro Lancaster B.I and B.III — wheels 1:32 is a resin set of replacement wheels from the Czech maker Eduard. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model.

The set replaces the main landing gear wheels of a model of the British four-engine bomber in the large 1:32 scale. The parts are cast in resin, which allows a sharper tread pattern, legible lettering on the sidewall and clearer hub detail than a split plastic mold offers. At the same time it does away with the seam down the middle of the tire, which would otherwise have to be laboriously sanded off. This is an accessory to a kit already bought, not an airplane model. The exact composition of the package is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine bomber with Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines, which became the most widely used machine of its kind in Royal Air Force service. The B.I and B.III versions differed mainly in where their engines came from; otherwise they were practically identical in shape. Given the weight of the aircraft, the main landing gear wheels were massive, and in 1:32 scale they are a prominent feature, clearly visible at close range.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to remove the remains of the mold release agent — without that the paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the surface, taking care that the contact face stays square. Sand wet and with respiratory protection, as resin dust should not be breathed in. It is glued with super glue. Paint the tire a dark gray rather than pure black and then dust the tread with a light pigment; the hub is usually a different shade, so mask it, or brush it once the rubber is dry.
