A resin control stick for the cockpit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in 1:32 scale from Quickboost. It is a precisely cast replacement for the control, not a stand-alone airplane model. The detail part replaces the simplified stick from the base kit with a more faithful and finer casting.
The control stick was the central control of the Bf 109 cockpit. The pilot used it for roll and pitch, and the weapon controls were usually on its grip. In the large 1:32 scale the stick is clearly visible in an open cockpit, so a faithful, slender casting moves the overall impression of the cockpit well ahead of the chunkier injection-molded part.
Resin parts call for careful work: wash them free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; protect your airways when sanding. Paint the stick in the dark cockpit shade, set the grip apart in black or dark gray and carefully bring out the small controls on the head with a brush.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
