1:32 BF-109 F-4 interior 3D decals holds colored decals with a raised surface for the cockpit of the German fighter in the F-4 version. Developed for the Trumpeter kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The elements on the sheet match the pilot's compartment of the Friedrich version: the main panel with its dials, the side walls, the control console and the harness straps. The color and the relief are printed directly on the carrier, so both painting and clear-coating photo-etch fall away. The kit of the aircraft has to be obtained separately. The target kit is Trumpeter.
The F version is aerodynamically the most refined of the Messerschmitts. The designers rounded off the wingtips, retracted the tailwheel and above all did away with the bracing struts of the horizontal tail surface, by which the tail gained a clean cantilever form. The F-4 received the Daimler-Benz DB 601E engine and armament concentrated on the axis of the machine: a 20 mm MG 151 cannon firing through the hollow propeller shaft, complemented by two machine guns above the engine. It was on these very machines that Werner Mölders and Hans-Joachim Marseille flew in 1941 and 1942, the latter operating over North Africa with the tropical variant. Pilots valued the light controls of the Friedrich, but criticized its weaker firepower against the later versions.
The inside of the fuselage tends to be broken up in the large scales, so compare the elements with the shape of the walls beforehand. Glue them dry and without pressing too hard, so that the relief is not crushed. When building with the cockpit door swung open, it pays to fine-tune the shadows with a weak dark glaze around the edge of the panel.
