Fabric seat belts for the pilot's seat of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-14 in 1:32 scale. Against a belt molded in one piece, fabric has one decisive advantage: it can be bent, twisted and left to fall freely over the edge of the seat, so once fitted the cockpit looks lived in even without a pilot figure.
On a model in this scale the seat shows clearly, especially on a build with the canopy open. The belts are one of the features that turn an empty shell into a pilot's workplace, and fitting them is a matter of a few minutes. The Orlon designation sets this version apart within the line of belts of the same scale.
Cut the belts with a sharp blade on a hard surface; scissors fray the edge of the fabric. Apply glue sparingly and in spots: the fabric soaks it up and hardens, and then the belt stops bending. So settle the final shape with tweezers before the glue sets.
For the modeler who is building the Bf 109 G-14 in 1:32 scale and wants the cockpit finished without the labor of making belts from strips of foil. Experience with fine tweezer work helps, but the job is within reach even for someone fitting belts for the first time.
This is an accessory set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
