1:32 Camouflage Paint Masks For F-16 Blizzard Aggressor is a set of three sheets for the light winter aggressor scheme of the American Fighting Falcon.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three sheets of stencils trace out the light broken finish worn by American aggressor Fighting Falcons used to imitate an opponent in training. The pattern is put together from light gray and white fields with hard edges and covers the whole airframe including the fin and the lifting surfaces. The artwork follows photographs of particular machines, so it matches a real appearance rather than a general idea of winter camouflage.
Aggressor squadrons play the role of the opponent in exercises and their aircraft therefore wear schemes derived from foreign equipment. It is not cosmetic: a colorful and unusual finish makes it harder to judge the distance and the position of a machine in close combat and at the same time allows individual aircraft to be told apart quickly. The winter variant came about for the environment of Nordic training areas, where a machine moves over snow and over light cloud.
Light camouflage is merciless to the surface beneath it. Before you start, sand the filler, fill the seams and apply a uniform primer, because white and light gray will hide nothing and will bring out even a small scratch. Spray in many thin layers and let each one set, as otherwise the paint will run under the edge of the film. Divide the stencils from the three sheets in advance according to the order of the tones and apply only those that belong to the color being sprayed at the time.
