According to the name, the package holds four resin ADV 5.1 rims for a diameter of nineteen inches. It is not a kit of a car; it is a replacement set of wheels that a modeler fits in place of the factory rims to give a build a character of its own. A resin casting holds the sharp edges of the spokes and the fine transitions better than a production injection-molded wheel, but it takes less rough handling.
The ADV 5.1 comes from the family of American forged ADV.1 wheels, which made their name mainly on conversions of supercars and powerful sedans. The design rests on five wide spokes run all the way to the edge of the rim and on a markedly curved face, which makes the wheel look substantial even though the forged construction stays light. The 19-inch size is usual with this styling on mid-size coupes.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that any remains of mold release agent from the mold disappear. Apply the primer in thin coats, otherwise the sharp division between a spoke and the lip will fill in. A polished edge can be suggested by masking and a metallic shade applied last of all, because metallics are hard to overspray. Cyanoacrylate glue holds on the joint to the axle; on resin it is more reliable than cement for plastic.
