Montex 1:32 – a masking set for the Curtiss P-40M Warhawk serves for spraying the frames and the markings instead of cutting tapes by hand. The masks are cut for the Trumpeter 2211 kit.

The goods are an aid for painting a model in the large 1:32 scale, not a kit of the aircraft. The name describes it as a set for spraying, that is for covering the areas that are to stay in a different shade. Modelers save time mainly on the canopy frames, where every inaccuracy shows at once. The shapes of the individual pieces derive from the canopy frames of the Trumpeter 2211 kit.
The Curtiss P-40 belonged to the types that bore the main weight of the first years of the war, even though it was not the most modern even then. The M version received an Allison engine with an improved supercharger and its hallmark was a lengthened section of fuselage behind the exhausts. It served with the US Army Air Forces and with the Allies, among others in the Soviet Union and with units in Burma, so it offers interesting finishes.
The set suits a modeler who is building a large 1:32 model and wants the glazing to look clean. In a larger scale the frames are wide and a crooked line stands out, so pre-shaped masks do more work here than on small models. The Trumpeter 2211 kit obtained separately is a prerequisite.
