de Havilland Mosquito NF Mk.II / FB Mk.VI — pitot and armament (1:32, Master)

A detail accessory in turned metal, not an aircraft model. The set replaces the plastic parts of the armament and the probe of the de Havilland Mosquito in the NF Mk.II and FB Mk.VI versions. It contains turned Browning .303 machine gun barrels, Hispano 20 mm cannon muzzles and a pitot (airspeed) tube. Turned metal gives a crisper and more accurate shape than injection-molded plastic can reach. The set is shaped for the 1:32 Mosquito kits from Tamiya. It is made by the Polish manufacturer Master.

Use and fitting

• Check that your base Mosquito kit in the NF Mk.II or FB Mk.VI version is in 1:32 scale.
• Cut off the plastic barrels and the probe and drill holes in the remaining parts for the metal pins.
• Glue the metal parts with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic does not hold on metal.
• Degrease the parts and treat them with a primer before gluing as well as before painting.

Painting tips

Apply a primer to the metal, and only then the paint. Bring out the barrels and the cannon muzzles with a dark wash and light drybrushing; leave the pitot tube a dark metallic shade. Fit the parts at the end of the build.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
