1:32 Early PR Spitfires

Painting mask set 1:32 Early PR Spitfires (Model Maker)

A set of painting masks in 1:32 scale from the Polish maker Model Maker for the early photo reconnaissance (PR) versions of the Spitfire. The masks are used to spray the specific insignia and elements of the finish with an airbrush directly onto the surface of the model.

The real subject

The early photo reconnaissance Spitfires were lightened, unarmed aircraft adapted for long-range reconnaissance. They flew in distinctive survey camouflage schemes, among them light blue shades for high-altitude flight, which set them apart from the combat versions. The masks help to reproduce these elements cleanly and without decals.

Use

• Lay the masks on as stencils for spraying the individual elements of the finish and the insignia.
• Press the edges down carefully so that paint cannot creep under the mask.
• Once the paint is dry, take the masks off and seal the surface with varnish.

Who the set is for

• Modelers of British Second World War aircraft in 1:32 scale.
• Anyone interested in the photo reconnaissance versions of the Spitfire.

The masks are neither paint nor a model. Paints, varnish and the model are not included in the package.
