Colored three-dimensional cockpit elements for a model of the F-104A and F-104C aircraft in 1:32 scale, cut for the Italeri kit. An accessory from the brand Kelik.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-104 Starfighter is among the most striking aircraft of the 1950s: a long, slender fuselage, a very short, thin wing with sharp edges and T-shaped tail surfaces. The A version was the first production rendition for the US Air Force, while the C version served with tactical units. The cockpit of both versions is narrow and in 1:32 scale a great deal of it is visible, so the eye in a display case concentrates on how it is worked out.
The set brings colored three-dimensional elements for the inside of the cockpit in 1:32 scale. They replace the flat printing of the instruments: the dials and the controls are contoured, so once fitted they cast their own shadow and come across with depth. The elements are cut for the Italeri kit, so on another kit count on having to seat them with care.
First finish the base: paint the cockpit parts, let them dry and degrease the surface, because the elements will not hold on a greasy or grainy base. Try the seating dry and trim any excess edges with a sharp blade. The method of applying them differs from set to set, so go by the manufacturer's instructions before you work, as they also give the way the elements are fixed. Apply them as the last step before closing the fuselage.
The set is for modelers who build in the large scale and want a cockpit worked out more thoroughly than the base kit manages. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
