This is a resin detail set of the exhaust nozzles in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit, which replaces the nozzles from the kit with more faithful resin parts. The nozzles are made in the closed, constricted position. The set is intended for more experienced modelers building the F-14A Tomcat.
The F-14A Tomcat is an American two-seat carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing, powered by two turbojets with afterburners. The exhaust nozzles with their movable petals change their cross-section according to the engine regime. The closed position shows the nozzles with the petals constricted, which matches the engines running at lower power.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and join them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The nozzles come out well with metallic shades, heat staining and a fine wash into the petals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
