A resin detail set in 1:32 scale from the Quickboost range by the Czech manufacturer Aires, not an aircraft kit. It contains precisely cast intake covers, the so-called FOD covers, which protect the engine intakes from foreign objects getting in while the aircraft stands on the ground.
The Phantom II is a twin-engine multi-role fighter with prominent side air intakes. Fitted protective covers are a typical feature of an aircraft on the flight line and give a ground scene an authentic look; they often carry bold lettering and colored markings.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; sand with your airways protected. The covers are usually painted in a bright warning color; the lettering and markings can be added with decals or with a fine brush. The set suits models in ground configuration with the intakes covered in particular.
