This is a resin set of replacement wheels, not a model of the aircraft. It holds detailed landing gear wheels for the American F-4C/D Phantom II jet fighter in 1:32 scale. The tires have a faithful tread pattern and a hinted weighted sag that imitates the weight of this heavy machine. The hubs are cast with sharp detail.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4C and F-4D Phantom II were early versions of this two-seat, twin-engine jet fighter, used above all by the US Air Force. They preceded the later F-4E version with its built-in cannon.
The resin wheels replace the plastic parts from the Tamiya kit and raise the realism of the landing gear. The weighted sag is particularly effective on the heavy Phantom.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the tires matte black-gray, the hubs usually in a light color, and bring them out with a wash. The weighted sag makes it easier to seat the model correctly on a surface.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
