This set is not a model of an aircraft but an aftermarket upgrade for a plastic kit. It contains cast resin parts complemented by photo-etch, with which you replace the simplified cockpit from the box with a richly detailed interior. The set is intended for the injection-molded model of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair in 1:32 scale (the kit from Trumpeter).
The F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War, easily recognized by its cranked wing in the shape of an inverted W. The resin set captures the pilot cockpit, the instrument panel, the side consoles, the seat and other items that the plastic parts only suggest. The photo-etched items add the harness and fine details.
First separate the parts from the casting blocks with a fine saw or a cutter and wash off the mold release residue. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Count on adjusting the fit and possibly reworking the plastic parts of the kit; protect your airways when sanding resin. The interior stands out best when you paint and shade it before closing the fuselage.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
