Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set from the Brassin line by Eduard in 1:32 scale, complemented by photo-etched parts. It is not a model, but a detail accessory. It replaces the engine cowling with a more accurate casting with an alternate arrangement of the cooling flaps. It is intended for models of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair carrier fighter.
The circular cowling of the radial engine is a prominent part of the nose on the Corsair, and the cooling flaps differed in position and shape both in service and from one production batch to another. The resin casting with photo-etch allows a realistic rendering of the flaps and of the thin cowling edges, which injection-molded plastic cannot reach. The set therefore raises the fidelity of the whole engine section.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and so are the photo-etched parts. The thin cowling edges call for careful handling. Paint with an airbrush and finish the inner surfaces with a brush.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. It calls for a matching base kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
