A resin set from the Brassin line by Eduard in 1:32 scale. It is not a model, but a detail accessory. It replaces the plastic main wheels of a kit with faithful castings of tires bearing the period diamond tread pattern. It is intended for models of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair carrier fighter.
The cast wheels have a finely rendered tread pattern and detailed hubs with brakes, which on injection-molded parts are usually simplified. The multi-part hub allows a realistic open look for the rim. A masking template for a clean division between tire and rim during painting is usually included. On a Corsair in service, the wheels are among the most visible details of the landing gear.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). It is best to paint the tires in a matte finish and the hubs in a different shade, according to use.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. It calls for a matching base kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
