A set of shaped self-adhesive masks for the clear parts of a model of the Fieseler Fi 103R in 1:32 scale. The masks follow the shape of the individual panes of glazing, so that once they are in place only the frame is left exposed, and that is then sprayed with paint. With a cockpit this small, cutting masks by hand is especially thankless, and the set removes the need. Neither the model nor the paints are included in the package. The masks are cut to fit the Special Hobby kit.
The Fieseler Fi 103 was a German unmanned missile of the Second World War period, powered by a pulsejet mounted above the rear of the fuselage. The version designated Fi 103R was created as a piloted conversion of the original design: a small cockpit with a simple canopy and basic instruments was built into the fuselage. This variant never reached combat use and was flown for training and testing. That cockpit is the only glazed place on the whole machine and a rewarding detail for a modeler.
Wash and degrease the clear part before you apply them. Lift the masks with tweezers, lay them in the middle of the pane and press them down with a soft stick from the center toward the edges. Spray the interior shade first and the external color once it has dried. Take the mask off only after the paint has dried, with the tip of a toothpick, so that nothing is scratched. Wipe off any adhesive residue with a dry cloth, as solvents would frost the clear part.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check before you buy that the masks match your kit.
