This accessory from the Polish company MASTER in 1:32 scale represents one piece of the German Spandau LMG 08 aircraft machine gun of the First World War, in the version with cooling jacket version 2. It combines turned metal and fine parts into a precise replacement which markedly surpasses the plastic machine gun from the box. It is not an aircraft model but a faithful accessory for the armament.
The LMG 08 (Spandau) was the standard synchronized aircraft machine gun of 8 mm caliber used by Germany in the First World War. It was fitted to practically all German fighters of the day. Its characteristic feature is the perforated cooling jacket around the barrel, the design of which differed slightly between individual production batches, which version 2 of this set takes into account.
You place the machine gun on the engine cowling or in the firing position according to the particular subject. Glue the metal and fine parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), degrease them before painting and go over them with a primer. The perforated jacket will stand out after dark highlighting and drybrushing with a metallic paint.
This is a detailing accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
