GasPatch 1:32 Gnome Monosoupape 9N rotary engine — a detailed 3D-printed resin engine for First World War aircraft models. It is not an airplane model but a replacement for the plastic engine, for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed 3D-printed resin model of the Gnome Monosoupape 9N rotary aircraft engine in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for advanced modelers, not a standalone aircraft model — the engine takes the place of the simplified plastic part in the kit and brings fine cylinder finning, exhausts and valve gear that stand out strongly in the open nose of period aircraft.
The Gnome Monosoupape (single valve in French) was a French rotary engine with the characteristic arrangement of a single valve per cylinder. The 9N version was one of the later, more powerful nine-cylinder variants and powered, among others, fighters of the end of the First World War such as the Nieuport 28. As with every rotary engine, the whole cylinder block and the propeller turn around a fixed crankshaft.
Wash the parts to remove any release agent and separate them carefully from the print supports. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The fine cylinder finning stands out once a metallic base coat and a wash have been applied. Protect your airways while sanding.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone aircraft model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
