Replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for the Grumman F-14A Tomcat model in 1:32 scale. They swap out the kit parts and refine the tail of the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat is a two-seat, twin-engine carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The exhaust nozzles at the end of the fuselage are made up of movable petals and their cross-section changes with the engine setting. The closed position means the petals drawn together, so the tail is narrower and the longitudinal gaps between the petals stand out better.
Replacement nozzles in the closed position for the F-14A model in 1:32 scale. Compared with the kit parts they have thinner walls, sharper edges and a deeper interior. What to watch out for during the fit:
The parts are not polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or two-part epoxy. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry, otherwise the primer will not hold. Apply metallic shades in thin coats.
Suitable for modelers who want to sharpen the tail and do not mind swapping parts. The difficulty is low: the finished nozzles go into a prepared seating, so even someone starting out with replacement parts will dare to make the change. Preparing the seating and painting the interior take the most time; the gluing itself is a matter of moments. The box holds only the parts listed; the model, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
