The decal set Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB in the Far East, Pt.1 from DK Decals in 1:32 scale is the first part of a range devoted to Hurricanes in the Far Eastern theater.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of DK Decals waterslide decals in 1:32 scale with Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB machines deployed in the Far Eastern theater. The designation Pt.1 in the name means that this is the first part, and a second part with the same focus follows on from it. The set is not a kit; it contains decals for finishing a model. Check the number of schemes and the individual machines on the packaging.
The Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter whose fuselage was formed by a lattice structure with a covering, while the wing went over to an all-metal form during the war. The Mk.II version meant a more powerful Merlin engine, and the Mk.IIB form carried twelve 7.7 mm machine guns. In the Far East the type served as a fighter and as an attack aircraft in conditions of high humidity and dust, which showed both in the camouflage schemes and in the rapid wear of the finishes.
Apply them to smooth gloss varnish, never to a matte surface, on which a decal silvers. Cut the design out close, release it in lukewarm water and transfer it onto the model. As long as it is damp, the position can be adjusted with a soft brush. Draw the excess water off and use a softener across engraved lines. Large designs in 1:32 scale are better settled one after another with drying in between, otherwise the film ripples. Matte the finished model down or coat it with semi-gloss and only then go on with the patina, so that the edges of the decals are lost under a uniform surface.
The package contains decals. The kit, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
