Replacement fish tail type exhausts for the Hurricane Mk.II in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hurricane was a British fighter of the Second World War and the Mk.II version was among its most widespread builds. It was powered by a V12 engine whose exhausts project along both sides of the engine cowling and are clearly visible from the side. The form of the exhausts differed from machine to machine, so it pays to treat them as a recognition feature of a particular aircraft.
Replacement exhausts in the form known as fish tail for its widened, flattened outlet. They replace the parts from the kit, whose outlets tend to be blanked off; on a finished model they give the impression of a deep vent. The manufacturer also offers exhausts of another type for the Hurricane, so before buying it pays to check from a photograph which form your machine carried. The exact number of parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, cement for plastic models has no effect on them and you have to reach for super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface down. Wash and degrease them before painting. Paint the exhausts separately and fit them only once the cowling has been sprayed, otherwise the surrounding paint will clog them. A dark brown base with soot at the outlet and a lighter shade on the upper side gives the part depth.
In the large 1:32 scale the details around the engine are looked at from close up, and a blanked-off exhaust outlet is one of the first places the eye notices. The swap takes a few minutes, needs no cutting into the structure of the model and shows even on a finished build in a display case.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
