A set of Japanese aviation belts of the Second World War, rendition type 2, in 1:32 scale. A detail for a cockpit where how the strap lies is what decides.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for rendering the belts in the cockpit of a Japanese aircraft of the Second World War period, in the rendition the manufacturer lists as type 2, for 1:32 scale.
When enlarged, it is not so much the exact shape of the buckle that decides as how the strap lies. A real restraint never pulls out into a straight line: it breaks over the edge of the pan, it twists at the loose end and where the pilot gripped it repeatedly it is worn smooth. It is exactly these small things that separate a model you believe from one where there is just a straight strip across the seat.
Japanese belts are offered in several numbered renditions, because the method of restraint differed between types of aircraft. Choose according to references for the machine you are building; when you are not sure, go by a photograph of the cockpit of the particular version, not by a general rule for the whole country.
Seat and paint the seat first, and only then the belts. Shape the bends gradually and let them settle before you move on to the next one. Highlight the buckles with a dark shade and lighten the edge of the strap slightly instead. Tie the cockpit together at the end with a light filter, so that the detail does not jump out of the whole with coloring the original interior does not have.
