Eduard Ki-61 I Hei Hien masks 1:32 is a cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien fighter. It gives sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:32 scale is intended for a plastic model of the Japanese Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien fighter in the I Hei version. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields with no lengthy hand-cutting of tape.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien is a Japanese fighter of the Second World War, known to the Allies under the code name Tony. Unlike most Japanese fighters it had an inverted V12 liquid-cooled engine, which gave it a slim nose recalling European aircraft. The I Hei version carried heavier cannon armament and was used in the defense of Japanese airspace and over New Guinea.
Clean and degrease the canopy glazing. Lift the masks off the backing, place them on the cockpit frames and press them into the edges, filling small gaps with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in two thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. The wheel masks separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle so that the fresh coat is not damaged.
The package holds only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
