British postwar vehicles carried a dark green represented by 24 Deep Bronze Green Matt, a matte water-based acrylic paint from the Lifecolor range.
Responsibility details are not available.
When the British army set its wartime brown and olive schemes aside, a very dark green with a bronze cast took their place. It stayed in British service for whole postwar decades and became as characteristic of British vehicles as the olive tone was of American ones. The shade 24 Deep Bronze Green Matt is a water-based acrylic paint; the word Matt in the name says that it is a matte finish.
The number in the name
The two digits at the start of the name are the sequence number of the shade from the British coding system, not a stock item. The British kept other colors of theirs this way too, ones modelers know under names such as Silver Grey or Portland Stone. It is a different logic from the American one: the British named the color and added a sequence number, whereas the Americans gave the shade a five-digit chart number and the name came second.
For modelers of British Cold War vehicles and for anyone looking for a really rich dark green with a matte surface, on which decals, abrasion and dust effects stand out well.
