Masks for national insignia with a white outline for the Ki-84 Hayate in 1:32 scale. The white ring and the red center both come out concentric.
Responsibility details are not available.
The outlined form of the hinomaru belongs to the late army machines over Japan and it cannot be missed on a dark green upper surface. This set deals with it by spraying, so both concentric circles stay exactly where they belong and no shift or a show-through strip of the base appears between the white and the red.
The Hayate was created as a universal replacement for the army fighters in use and several thousand of them were built. It was committed over the Philippines, in China and over the home islands. Its weak points were the landing gear and the hydraulics, which took their toll in field conditions, and with them a high proportion of machines unfit to fly. Anyone who builds the Hayate usually wants to capture exactly this late, worn face of the war.
The white comes first, over the whole area of the outer circle. Let it cure properly, otherwise it will peel away together with the edge at the next step. Then uncover the center and spray the red, again in thin coats. Anyone who wants to be sure can underlay the white with gray first, so that it covers sooner over dark camouflage and not too much material is built up into the insignia.
A kit of the aircraft is needed separately and is not part of the set.
