Eduard 1:32 Lancaster B Mk.I cockpit is a color photo-etched set for the interior of the pilot's cockpit of the Lancaster bomber model. It is an accessory for a kit, not the model itself.

A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard aimed at the pilot's cockpit of the model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk.I bomber in 1:32 scale. It includes color-printed parts, so the instrument panels do not have to be laboriously painted freehand. It is not an aircraft kit, as the set replaces and fills out the plastic interior parts; the model itself is bought separately.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine heavy bomber used during the Second World War. The B Mk.I version had Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines and a roomy bomb bay running through a substantial part of the fuselage. On the Lancaster the pilot's cockpit sits high and is clearly visible behind extensive glazing, so in 1:32 scale it is worth taking care over: the instrument panel, the side panels and the seat belong among the features that turn a model into convincing work.
Cut the photo-etched parts on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch scissors, and never tear them out. Make the folds in a bending tool or over the sharp edge of a razor blade. The color-printed parts are glued with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue, or with a special glue for photo-etched parts; solvent-based glues would damage the printing. The plastic originals have to be cut away and the surface leveled before the photo-etched part is fitted. The finished interior can be unified at the end with a thin matte varnish, so that the printing does not reflect light differently from its surroundings.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
