The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is a single-engine supersonic combat aircraft with a strikingly slender fuselage and a short, thin wing whose leading edge was so sharp that it was covered on the ground. It is that slender fuselage that makes the rear of the aircraft a place the eye goes to: the nozzle forms the entire end of the fuselage and can be seen from practically every angle. The name of the set states versions A, C, D, J and G, that is single-seat and two-seat forms as well as machines delivered abroad.
The nozzle from a kit tends to be split for production reasons, has thick walls and lacks the fine internal shaping that is nonetheless clearly visible in 1:32 scale. The replacement part replaces this section with a single piece with a thinner edge and a worked-out interior, so the rear of the aircraft looks like an open duct rather than a blind hole. The extent of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
