A set of photo-etched metal parts intended for a model of the F-35C aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is a photo-etched set, that is, thin metal parts on a fret that replace or supplement the plastic parts of the model where the plastic is too thick. Which areas of the model the set covers is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
The F-35C is the carrier version of the F-35 Lightning II, that is, the configuration for service from aircraft carriers. It is told apart from the land-based version by a larger wing with folding tips, heavier landing gear and an arrestor hook for catching a wire on the deck. The larger wing area increases range and lowers the landing speed, which is decisive when returning to a ship. It is a single-seat aircraft with an internal weapons bay, whose smooth shapes are meant to reduce radar reflectivity.
It will be appreciated by builders who take a model in 1:32 scale down to the detail and do not mind slower work with tweezers. A large scale is rewarding for photo-etch: the parts are big enough to be worked with and yet they stand out on the model.
A set of accessory parts is supplied. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
