A color marker pen for modelers, from the range of products for surface finishing and highlighting. The shade is dark orange, that is, an orange pulled toward brown, not a signal tone. The paint goes from the tip straight onto the model, so mixing and brush washing both fall away.
Dark orange is the color of corrosion in its fresh stage, when rust is not yet brown and holds a deep tone on the metal. It suits the edges of metal panels, the edges of hatches, exhausts, the bottoms of tanks and the areas around rivets, where water always runs the same way. It also serves outside weathering: on the warning markings of construction machinery, on lettering and on small color details, where mixing paint and setting up an airbrush would be far too much preparation.
Before work, leave the marker tip down for a while and test the stroke on scrap plastic rather than straight on the model. The manufacturer states on the packaging how to proceed at first use, that is, whether the tip is activated by pressing. Apply the paint in two passes; a thin first layer settles more evenly than one heavy stroke, and let the surface dry between layers. Guide the tip lightly over the surface, as pressure only widens the stroke. After use, close the marker and store it flat so the tip does not dry out.
One shade is supplied. Other shades, thinner and clear coat are not included, unless stated otherwise.
