A masking set for spraying the cockpit framing of the MC.205 Veltro, the 1:32 enlargement protects the clear areas from paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cut pieces match the layout of the frames on the cockpit of the Veltro and cover the clear areas so that the paint sticks only to the framing. On this type it is delicate work, because the glazing is fairly small and the frames are wide and subdivided in comparison with it.
The Veltro came about when the designer Mario Castoldi fitted a much more powerful liquid-cooled engine of German origin, built in Italy under license, into the slender airframe of the earlier Folgore type. The machine at once caught up with its contemporary opponents and in the hands of experienced pilots proved to be an agile and fast fighter. Relatively few were built, though, and they entered combat only in the last year of Italian participation in the war, when they defended the south of the country and then served with the air force in the north. To this day it remains one of the most popular subjects among Italian aircraft.
First wash the clear part and let it dry without wiping it with a cloth. Move the small pieces with tweezers and press them down in the curves with a blunt tip, otherwise the paint will creep under. Choose the shade of the frames according to the interior and exterior finish of the particular machine.
