The MICA is a French guided missile for air combat. It came about as a single type for two tasks that two different missiles had covered before, that is for a fight at close quarters and for shooting at longer range. That is exactly why it is made in two versions, which differ in the seeker head for finding the target: the version designated RF has radar guidance, the IR version infrared guidance. In external shape the two are close to each other and are told apart mainly by the front part. Among their users the Rafale and the Mirage 2000 carry it.
Four missiles in 1:32 scale, that is a set for fitting out the pylons of one model. The parts are not made of polystyrene and are joined with super glue. The number of parts of each missile, the exact application of the set and the kits it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions; check the match with your own model beforehand.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully, so as not to lose the shape of the rounded tip. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, as otherwise the paint holds badly. A missile hung under a wing is heavier than a plastic part from a kit, so it pays to strengthen the joint with a pin of thin wire let into the pylon. Leave the sharp edges of the fins and the stabilizers thin, as they are easily rounded off by coarse sanding. Deal with the lettering and the markings only after the base paint has dried.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the supply, unless stated otherwise.
