Stencils for the frames and the divided canopy of the Italian fighter Macchi MC.202 Folgore in the large 1:32 scale. Cut to the shapes of the kit named in the designation of the item.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of stencils for covering the glazing and spraying the frames cleanly on a large model of the Italian Second World War fighter. The model it matches in shape is named in the designation of the item.
The Folgore came about when a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz V12, built in Italy under license, was fitted into the airframe of the earlier C.200 type. That gave the machine a slim pointed nose and performance comparable with its opponents over the Mediterranean and in North Africa. The armament, by contrast, stayed weak for a long time and relied mainly on machine guns mounted above the engine. The airframe kept its asymmetric wings, an inheritance from the earlier design, which compensated for the torque of the propeller.
The canopy is divided into several parts and the side panes lie almost flush with the spine of the fuselage, so the edge between the glass and the metal is hard to make out. Behind the seat a glazed strip also continues, which is hard to cover with hand-cut tape. The frames are narrow as well, and when they are cut freehand they almost always come out unevenly thick. A stencil keeps that dimension the same along the whole length.
