F-15 Eagle open exhaust nozzles, 1:32 is a resin detail set from Reskit that replaces the plastic engine nozzles with a faithful rendering of the fully open petals with the engines shut down. Cut for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set in 1:32 scale from Reskit. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement part: a pair of engine exhaust nozzles for a model of the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle fighter. The nozzles are rendered in the fully open position, the one that corresponds to a standing aircraft with the engines shut down. The set is meant to be swapped for the plastic nozzles of a matching kit in this scale. It is cut for the Revell kit.
The F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine air superiority fighter, in service since the 1970s. It is powered by two Pratt and Whitney F100 series turbofan engines with variable exhaust nozzles. On the ground the nozzle petals are usually spread to their maximum diameter, which is a conspicuous and often overlooked detail that plastic parts simplify.
Wash the parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up with respiratory protection; bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nozzles call for metallic and heat-tinted shades: metallic lacquers and tempered transitions work well, followed by bringing out the individual petals with a wash.
The resin detail accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
