Photo-etched parts for the cockpit interior of the McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is an American two-seat combat aircraft derived from the F-15 fighter. Besides air combat it handles strikes on ground targets in all weather and the second crew member operates the equipment for work against the ground. The cockpit is therefore full of controls and in 1:32 scale it is clearly visible under an open canopy.
The set offers photo-etched parts for the cockpit interior. Thin sheet carries the fine lines, grilles and outlines that cannot be achieved in plastic, and it replaces the places where a kit offers only suggested relief. Which particular parts the set deals with, and which kit it is cut for, are given in the maker's instructions.
Cut the parts out of the sheet with a sharp knife on a hard surface; do not tear them off, as a bent part is then hard to straighten. Make the folds on a bender or on the edge of a steel ruler and press along the whole length at once, so that the edge stays straight. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in the smallest amount with the tip of a wire, to the contact face from one side. Before painting, degrease the sheet and use a primer for metal, as paint rubs off a bare smooth surface.
The set is for modelers who build the cockpit open and want it to stand up to a close look. Anyone finishing a model with the canopy closed will make considerably less use of it. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
