The set is therefore intended above all as an accessory for a large aviation model or as a standalone element of a diorama. The MD-3 is an American mobile unit that at airfields and on decks serves to supply electrical power to an aircraft when its own engine is not running. It feeds the onboard systems during checks and is also used in starting jet engines. In construction it is a low cart on four wheels with a motor generator, a control panel and cabling, which is towed behind another vehicle or is self-propelled. It is exactly such small technical means that give aviation scenes scale and credibility.
Wash the resin castings before building in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surfaces on abrasive paper laid on a flat board. Do not breathe resin dust in; sand wet or with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); for large areas the gel version is suitable, as it gives time for setting. Apply an undercoat before painting, otherwise the paint will adhere poorly to smooth resin. Ground equipment tends to be markedly worn, so scuffed places, oil stains and a deposit of dust on the running gear pay off.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
