A display case with a large model of an aircraft comes across markedly more alive when the equipment that worked with it on deck is added. This model offers exactly that: a complete vehicle of printed parts, standing on its own and ready to be assembled and sprayed.
The MD-3 series appeared in the 1950s as the first equipment designed directly for cramped work on the decks of aircraft carriers. Its conspicuously low build allowed it to pass under the fuselage and the nose of parked machines, the diesel drive managed to pull aircraft weighing several tons, and the crews nicknamed the vehicles Mules. The individual letters after the number tell the renditions apart by the equipment the machine carried at the rear. They served for decades before a modernized white generation of tractors replaced them.
It pays to lay out all the parts first and compare them with the drawing, because on printed models there tend to be many small pieces. Remove the supports gradually, so that the thin elements do not break, and rid the finished whole of grease before painting. A base coat of primer is practically compulsory on printed material.
It is supplied unassembled and with no finish; paints, cyanoacrylate glue and any display base are obtained separately.
