Montex 1:32 masking templates for the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 deal with the framing of the cockpit outside and inside. An accessory for painting, not a kit. The cut derives from the parts of the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers who are building the Gustav in a large scale and want the glazing separated from the frames by a sharp line. The name gives the version for the outer and the inner side. The set does not make up a model on its own; it serves purely as an aid during spraying. The cutouts match the parts of the Revell kit the set is used with; with another manufacturer the shapes differ.
The Bf 109G-2 was one of the first production versions of the Gustav series, which came in in 1942. Compared with the Emil it received a more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and a strengthened structure, but it paid for that with a worse view and higher demands on the pilot when landing. The G-2 version had no pressurized cockpit, which sets it apart from the otherwise similar G-1. It was deployed over the eastern front and in the Mediterranean and became one of the most numerous German fighter types of the war.
Lay the templates on so that they follow the engraved framing and smooth the edge with your fingers from the center outward. Spray at low pressure, otherwise the paint creeps under the edge. If you are working with a gloss base under decals, let it cure before you lay anything on it. In busy places help yourself with a stick or tweezers with a blunt tip so that the glazing is not scratched.
