The MiG-15 was a single-engine jet fighter aircraft with a swept wing and a high-set horizontal tail, which appeared at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. It made its name in the Korean War, where it clashed with American machines of a similar concept, and it became one of the most widespread aircraft of its day. It was also built under license outside its country of origin and in a number of states it served for whole decades. Thanks to its simple shapes it is also a rewarding subject for large scales.
Cut the original plastic wheels off so that the stub of the gear leg is kept. Fit the new wheels dry and check that the model stands straight on all its bearing points. If you want to suggest a track on a surface, see to it that the imprint of the tread points the same way on both main legs. At the end tell the tire apart from the hub with a more matte surface, because it is precisely the difference in gloss that makes landing gear convincing more than the finest engraved detail.
