1:32 MiG-23M/MiG-23MF exhaust nozzle is an accessory set of the exhaust nozzle for a model of the MiG-23 fighter in the M and MF versions in the large 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an airplane kit but a replacement detail for the tail. The set replaces the engine exhaust nozzle on a model of the MiG-23 fighter under construction, in the M and MF versions. On this type the nozzle is one of the most conspicuous places, which everyone walking around the model from behind looks at, and in the large 1:32 scale every saved detail shows on it.
The MiG-23 was a Soviet single-engine fighter with a variable-geometry wing that entered service at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. The MiG-23M version was a substantially reworked standard for the Soviet Air Force with a more powerful engine and a better radar, while the MiG-23MF was the export equivalent delivered to allied states, Czechoslovakia among them. The engine ending in a fanned nozzle with a large number of movable petals gives the tail of the aircraft its typical silhouette, which differs depending on whether the machine is at rest on the ground or running at full power.
The inside of the nozzle is painted before it is glued into the fuselage; on a finished model a brush no longer reaches in there. You create the metallic appearance with a combination of a dark base and metallic shades laid down in thin coats; the transitions between the scorched areas look more faithful when you shade them with thinned brown and blue-gray tones. Before you fix the joint, test the fit dry and level any step toward the fuselage by sanding with respiratory protection.
