Master 1:32 MiG-29 (Fulcrum) pitot tube is a turned metal pitot tube for MiG-29 models in 1:32 scale that replaces the fragile plastic part on the tip of the nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
This turned metal part from the Polish brand Master is a replacement for the plastic pitot tube on a model of the MiG-29 fighter in 1:32 scale. It is a standalone accessory, not a kit. It is bought for two reasons: metal holds a perfectly straight axis, which injection-molded plastic at this length never has, and it does not snap during ordinary handling of a finished model.
The MiG-29 is a Soviet and later Russian twin-engine fourth generation fighter. On the tip of its nose it carries a long pitot tube that is part of the system measuring airspeed and altitude. The tube is made up of several stepped diameters and is one of the most prominent shapes when the aircraft is seen head on. On a model in 1:32 scale the part is several centimeters long, so any departure from the axis is immediately obvious.
The part is best fitted only after painting, the clear coat and the weathering are finished. Until then, leave the front of the nose with the plastic part or empty. Cut the plastic tube off at its root, level the surface and drill the hole with a bit matching the diameter of the pin of the metal part. Fit it dry and look at the model from the front and from above, and only then glue it with cyanoacrylate. Before painting, degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer made for metals. The alternative is not to paint the brass at all and only to unify it with a dark wash, which picks out the steps in diameter.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
