Quickboost MiG-29A Fulcrum air intake covers, type C, 1:32 (resin detail set)

This is not an airplane kit but an add-on resin set from the Quickboost brand in 1:32 scale. The set represents the air intake covers in the type C pattern, which on the aircraft are fitted over the front engine intakes while it stands on the ground. It is a different variant from the earlier type B pattern. On a model they liven up a scene on the apron. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.

The real subject

The MiG-29 in its basic version is a Soviet twin-engine fourth-generation fighter. Its prominent air intakes under the fuselage are protected on the ground by covers of various patterns. The aircraft is known for good agility and for service with many air forces.

Building and painting tips

First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection when sanding. The intake covers are usually painted as ground protective items. The surface is usually painted with an airbrush and the detail picked out with a fine wash.
