A resin detail set from the Quickboost brand in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but a set of replacement exhaust stubs for a matching kit of the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 fighter. The resin castings have hollowed-out mouths and fine edges, which arise from a split plastic mold only with difficulty, and they are seated in place of the plastic parts. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.
The MiG-3 was a Soviet high-altitude fighter from the start of the Second World War. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine, thanks to which the aircraft excelled at greater heights but was less agile near the ground. The row of short exhaust stubs along the sides of the engine cowling is one of the characteristic traits of the subject and is easy to make out on a model.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The exhausts come into their own once they are painted in dark metallic and rusty shades and the burnt edges are picked out.
This is an add-on resin set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
