A resin pilot seat with safety belts cast directly in relief, for a kit of the MiG-3 fighter in 1:32 scale from the Czech brand Quickboost (a production range of the Aires company). It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the cockpit that replaces the bare plastic seat from a kit. The belts are part of the casting, so they add realistic detail without any need for photo-etch.
The MiG-3 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the early Second World War, designed for combat at high altitude and powered by a V12 engine. It excelled in performance at altitude but lost out at lower levels, and it was also used for area defense and fighter reconnaissance. A faithful seat lifts the detail of an otherwise empty cockpit.
First wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue and separate them carefully from the casting block; sand with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the seat separately before fitting it: a base coat, shades for the cushion and the belts and a fine wash or a dry brush to bring out the relief.
This is a resin accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
