The GasPatch 1:32 Oberursel U.I rotary engine — a detailed 3D-printed resin engine for models of aircraft of the First World War. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for the plastic engine, for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed 3D-printed resin model of the Oberursel U.I rotary aircraft engine in 1:32. It is an accessory for advanced modelers, not a model of an aircraft in its own right — the engine replaces the simplified plastic part in a kit and brings fine finning of the cylinders, valve gear and further details, which stand out markedly in the exposed nose of a period aircraft.
The Oberursel U.I was a German nine-cylinder rotary engine, a license-built relative of the French Gnome engines. It powered a number of German fighters of the early First World War, above all the Fokker Eindecker monoplanes. In a rotary engine the whole block of cylinders and the propeller turn around a fixed crankshaft — thanks to that the engine cools itself and has its characteristic running.
Wash any print resin residue off the parts and carefully separate them from the print supports. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The fine finning of the cylinders comes out beautifully once a metallic base and a wash have been applied. Protect your airways while sanding.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of an aircraft in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
