This item is not a kit but a resin replacement for the barrels of the machine gun armament of an OV-10 Bronco model in 1:32 scale. Barrels molded in plastic tend, because of the mold technology, to be thick, bluntly ended and often slightly bent. A resin casting allows a finer diameter, a cleaner end and a straight axis, which is well visible on the weapons housed in the side sponsons of the Bronco. Quickboost is an accessory line of the Czech manufacturer Aires aimed at small, quickly fitted upgrade parts.
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms, meant for reconnaissance, forward air control and light attack. Part of its equipment is the machine gun armament housed in the side sponsons of the fuselage, which is what this set covers.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true the surface up by wet sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for plastic does not bite into resin. For a straight seating of the barrel, dry-fit the opening in the plastic part first and widen it carefully if needed. Apply a primer before painting. A dark steel shade suits the barrels and can be brought out with a light dry brush or a graphite sheen at the muzzle.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
