A sheet of water-slide decals for the Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter in 1:32 scale. The decals offer an alternative to the markings from the base kit and let you build an aircraft with different, distinctive markings; in a large scale it is exactly the markings that finally sell a model.
The P-61 Black Widow was the first American aircraft designed from the start as a night fighter. The large twin-boom machine with two radial engines carried airborne radar, heavy gun armament and a crew of several. It was deployed from 1944 in Europe and the Pacific, where at night it sought out and destroyed enemy aircraft. A number of aircraft flew in an all-black gloss finish, which together with the name gave the type an unmistakable identity, and against which the personal emblems and crew lettering stand out boldly.
Transfer the large decals in 1:32 scale one at a time and onto a perfectly gloss base, as silvering occurs on a flat surface. Fine-tune the position with plenty of water, then press the water out carefully with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges. Across raised features and panel lines a decal softening solution helps. Once dry, coat the whole model over and so even the sheen of the decals out with the surrounding paint.
The decal sheet is a stand-alone accessory; the kit is not included in the package.
